United Arab Emirates will utilize more solar energy from 2020 than Europe and the United States
The fast development of the emirates' economy with an exceptionally fast revenue increase in the crude oil, natural gas exports, tourism and incomes originating from a property market, make the fast conversion possible onto the large-scale use of the solar energy. According to the present ambitious plans of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, from 2020 the 30% of the energy will be originating from solar energy. The geographical conditions make all this maximally possible concerning the number of sunny hours.
In the forthcoming years primarily in Abu Dhabi and Dubai more solar power stations are being built. The very first example is Masdar City quarter, or rather a city, which is close to the Abu Dhabi international airport, and it is a 22 billion AED investment, which is going to be completed in 8 years.
Its speciality lies in, that the real estates and other establishments are only using renewable energy, primarily solar energy.
The Masdar City is going to accomodate about 40.000 residents and it will give home for 1.500 ’clear’ companies, operating environment friendly. It will employ about 50.000 workers. The solar power station will have a performance of about 10 megawatts.
According to the plans, 7% of all energy needs will be covered by solar energy by 2020, so the so the cost of the electricity will decrease about 75% compared to Europe and America. Dubai is also planning projects like this. All these projects will utilize more solar energy than Europe and te United States.
