Dubai hotel rates register 12 percent rise in Q4
Dubai bucked the global trend in hotel room price decline, registering an increase of 12 per cent to £177 (Dh953) in the fourth quarter last year from £158 for the same quarter in the previous year.
The rise in average hotel room price shows that despite the financial crisis hitting the region hard, the emirate continued to attract tourists and hotel occupancy rate remained high.
According to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index, the average price of a hotel room around the world fell by 12 per cent last year.
