Dubai curbs maintenance fee hikes

Dubai's Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera) has announced that property developers in the emirate may not increase or modify maintenance fee of properties in 2009 without its permission. 'The services charges are no longer subject to the developers' calculations and their desire to turn them into a profit-making tool,' said Marwan bin Ghalita, Rera's CEO. He said that Rera was developing a single system method for calculating service .
